buying a panel damaged donor?

I'm looking to buy a MK 2 Mondeo for my project and it occurs to me that there must be cars that have dropped to maybe £1000 in value, and then get involved in accidents. Surely no one is going to pay out to have a care like that repaired?
However, although I've been loking for some time, I haven't seen anything like that. Where should I be looking?
TIA

I didn't, at the time of writing the above, know about Uncle Fista's unfortunate accident. Amazing coincidence though

Heh, spooky

I think you're overestimating the price of a MK2 Mondeo (as I was) mine (1998) is worth £500 according to Parkers ;(

Ah crap.....

You could try UNIVERSAL SALVAGE. Dunno whereabouts you are but they have salvage auctions in various places. Plenty of lovely donors there

Legally, water damaged cars, ie floods, must be destroyed to avoid contamination and possible problems with dysentry and cholera, etc.

If you're near one of their sites and have some means of moving dead vehicles then HBC or someone similar should turn up a suitable donor. Failing that, try having a word with a local scrappy to keep an eye out for what you're after, and promise them some beer tokens if they can point you towards anything they're offered
