Is it worth doing?

Parting out the donor car that is.

I have bought a donor today for my Haynes roadster, it is an H reg Sapphire 1.8 cvh and I am wondering if there is anything of real value left after taking the parts for the donor that will sell relatively easily? The Donor is in excellent condition so all panels seem very solid etc., no real dents or dings that I noticed though I didn't look too hard TBH.

What bits might sell well so that I can get some of my £100 back.

If someone's got a car that needs repairing/updating: lights, door cards, seats, ???

There was a thread a couple of weeks back similar - guy asking how much parts were worth etc as he was getting offers from an Owners club forum for various parts. That would be my first port of call - get on the forum and see what people want.

I put an ad on ebay, something like breaking sierra. Set it at 99p and listed loads of bits in the description so it would turn up in searches.

I then put a note at the bottom that the 99p auction was only for a lightbulb or something. Please email if you want anything.

They might not allow it anymore as they are getting quite hot on listings like that.

That and a post on a sierra forum and I made about £150 profit from my donor car after taking the gearbox, rear axle, uprights and steering rack.

I sold the headlights, indicators and rear lights from my donor.

Things that were expensive new / from a factors, but that I could easily post.

HTH

Thanks for all the replies, I'll do a search for sierra clubs.

@mangogrooveworkshop

I really didnt have a close look but I recall everything looking good except a crack in the windscreen so obviously that would be useless Headlights grill indicators etc all looked good, I will know for sure tomorrow when It arrives.
