Wanna get it right before I start

I know this is a mixture of questions. Im sorry.

Can I just check all these are correct...

1. A Ford Cologne engine needs a +4 chassis (ie one 4 inches wider than book)
2. I will not need a dreadful catflap (sorry air intake) on my bonnect when using this engine.
3. THe easiest way of having this engine with a maual gearbox (without trawling through nearly every scrappy in the country) is to buy a auto and directly swap the gearbox for a Capri manual.
4. number 3 isnt too much of a pain (no moderation needed!).
5. with the changes that are well documented (often by james) this engine isnt too powerful for the chassis.

Many thanks

J

Ps. lost last post of this so apologise is it appear twice in the future!
PPs. I know that the information is about. Just not sure if I understand it, other threads have confused me a tad.

I would say a cologne is atleast as tall as a pinto, I tried to fit one into a standard book chassis.

The space was tight with the alt. having to be swapped over to the other side of the engine so a +4" chassis would help,

But after fitting a 38dgas carb and air filter I couldn't see over the top of the engine.

On the plus side the 5 speed fit is a piece of cake using the 2.8 gearbox.

All the best Dan.

P.S. Here's a pic of Alistair Mcs car, look in the photo archive for the rest.
