1994 m3

Bit of a double post but I think it was in the wrong section..

Found a 1994 M3 donor with a friend...

Its got light bodywork damage and the guy selling it has decided he'd struggle to break even if he sorted it as its high milage.

Its got 160k on the clock but a massive history file and about 5,000 miles ago made 300bhp on 3 random rolling roads so the motor is very healthy. Oh 250lb/ft of torque too

Details for the motor are below

"Mechanical
Supersprint X-pipe decat
Custom programmed ECU, done by Perfect Touch in Hoddesdon
http://www.perfect-touch.co.uk/results.php?carmake=BMW M POWER&model=M3 E36 3.0 incl.vmax

The car was dyno'd at 298.2 (Perfect Touch) and 298.6 bhp (Power Station in Tewkesbury) on two separate rolling roads within the same week. On 13th Jan 2008 I attended a Rolling Road day with the VR6 owners club back at Perfect Touch where it made 304.4bhp (I think my car is where they’ve taken their gains figures from quoted on the webpage above) and 247.8lbft at 5059rpm. Note the rpm max torque is made at; when the mapping was done emphasis was put on getting a really flat torque curve; at 3750 it’s over 240lbft where it stays until 6100rpm. This meant I could drive very quickly without using more than 5500rpm

Recent Work
New BMW clutch and braided clutch hose a couple of months ago.
I've also just fitted new [BMW] wishbones (£150each) and anti-roll bar drop links, had new ARB bushes too. 4-wheel alignment was done by a chap I know at Mr Clutch in Brookfield Farm, Cheshunt, I go to him as he really knows his BMWs.
Previous owner was a BMW technician. He recalibrated the CO mixtures which sharpens the throttle response, not many owners do that due to the complexity (=expense!) of the job.
Just had new gearbox mounts."

Its even got the forged wheel upgrade from new(£1200 option) so thats another bonus. bar a bit of cosmetic bodywork the car is in good condition.

Obviously its a bloody stonking donor.

I guess the million dollar question is how much is it worth?

How much would you say its worth? Its driveable by the way.

surely its a good choice as you'd never need to tune the engine as it makes too much power for a seven already.

Just how many miles would one of these lumps do? Do they have cambelts or chains?

Anything to look for in particular?

Why £500 when the engine is worth double that? I mean 300 proven bhp, it'd cost more to turbo/supercharge a zetec/duratec lump for the same power..... which still IMO wouldn't be as good as getting 300bhp from a N/A lump.
