Left beam high- Right beam low then reversed!!!

Just putting a new dash and switches on Beccy (Yes she has a girls name ) This problem was present when I bought her but want to sort it out now its being rewired.

The problem!!

Switch lights on low beam and the left is on full/right on low. Click the high beam switch and they reverse, right full left low. I'm guessing it could maybe be a relay or could it have been wired with a couple of wires mixed up and going to opposite switches? The high beam switch at present is a simple 3 contact toggle. When its sorted its going onto a Savage switch.

Any suggestions?

sounds like the left hand bulb has crossed wires at the bulb connector.

Assuming it's a H4 or something similar then the wires being the wrong way round on the buld plug would be my first port of call.

Lights are on one switch and the high beam on a totally separate toggle switch so its not just the plug wiring I guess.

Ill check at the bulb conector end tomorrow.

doesn't make any difference how it's wired, the connections are the wrong way round at the lamp itself

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

Agreed swap two non earth wires on l/h bulb wiring
you may be able to remove them from the plug if you use a small screwdriver
Ray
also just check both bulbs are the right way up!
shouldnt be able to fit the wrong way but if the reflector is in wrong then you could
