Need a banger for help the heroes charity!

I'm looking to buy a car which by the rules of the game can be up to £250 to enter into a rally across europe for Help the Heroes charity.

Ebay is coming up with some good stuff but sometimes people aren't honest or lack the technical knowledge when they say "in my best knowledge" that it will pass an MOT.

Does anyone have a car which is mechanically sound for that sort of money? Ideally a Volvo with a bombproof red block engine...but thats just me dreaming!

well i've recently been given a rangerover bobtail pickup, with a full external cage, buckets harnesses,2"lift,for nothing!so there's plenty of hope!not that i'd want to put fuel in it for that!scrapage scheme is probably the biggest pain in the arse for this kind of event!

have just sponsored another team doing that. they managed to "borrow" a landy descovery directly from landrover.

their team is called Serving soldiers helping heroes.

maybe another manufacturer would be able to oblige? or possibly a dealership could sort you out with a trade in borrow? i know it must be in the rules if this team managed to do it.

Got any details on the event? Sounds like a good laugh (and, as a former serviceman, a very worthy cause too!).

This site has loads....... dont be afraid to pay a little more, tis better to not have to work on your banger the whole time and better to enjoy the event....

bangers are running at 350 to 400 for what I would say is a good un.....
scrappage has put a large dent in the supply
