stressful electromagnetic radiation
From the Red Bull site:
http://www.redbull.com/cs/Satellite/en_INT/Article/FIR-TEX-joins-Red-Bull-Racing-021242843067105?p=1242745950183
A load of snake oil?
"the vests have been shown to protect the wearer from stressful electromagnetic radiation and increase power and endurance – important aspects
within the demanding world of Formula One."
Sounds like utter bollox to me!
Cheers,
James

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

I like the disclaimer on the official website
"The aim of FIR-TEX is to bring technological fabrics on the market and their products will help some subjects to simply perform better or feel
better while others won't experience any difference or could even feel discomfort."
I've never seen a website which makes you acknowledge a disclaimer before you can view it....

So fir-tex have paid RBR a couple of grand to have a 1"x2" sticker on the mirror of the cars or something, doubt very much the drivers
will be in fir-pants, unless they do a special nomex blend that can "reflect your natural rays of life" back ino your balls, I mean body,
I prefer to wrap myself in tin foil anyway, it has the same effect

Sounds like Boswellox to me - we subject people to huge elctromagnetic pulses every day (10 - 15 Tesla at least) and noone has shown any problems with
it at all... unless you have some ferrous metal in your body, then it tends to be unpleasant!

I think it's the pit crew who will be wearing them.
Just what you need, stand around all day in the blazing heat, working hard in a dark blue suit... and you get to put an extra layer on underneath!
I can tell you what I'd say if I was told to wear one!

No. Because iron oxide (hence red) isn't magnetic. Rust isn't magnetic, for example.

The Fe in haemoglobin is locked in position and can't align with magnetic fields.

I sometimes get a bit dizzy when walking through 11kV switchrooms next to the transformers. Im convinced its possible to do you in with EMF.
Im also convinced that having a house over HV Cables or under pylons can have a detrimental affect to your health as well.
The high tension power would surely ionise or alter the structure of the immediate environment, making it different to what it would be normally.
Ever heard pylons crackle in the fog or rain?
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

Excellent - placebo now comes in fabric form.
Their disclaimer basically admits it's a load of codswallop, and their FAQ and scientific info is a big load of LOL. Surely an F1 team
aren't stupid enough to associate themselves with this sort of woo?

Maybe it's very person specific, I spend a LOT of time next to 11kv TXs and gear and don't get any ill effects, apart from my 3rd arm
growing that is....
All jokes aside, I have noticed a bit of weird "noise" in my head in certian subs at work but since I moved dept I never hear it, despite
being exposed to hight voltage and heavy power stuff now.
Another point to note is whenever I tig weld or am in the same room as someone who does it smells "like tig welding" instantly, i.e. the
air is ionised instantly, which can't really be good for you, like everyone says, you don't see many old welders...................
