MX5 Donor value?

Someone I know has a W reg MX5 1.8 Unfortunately the engine is shot. While she is deciding what to do with it, I wondered what sort of price it may fetch as a donor. Any ideas? think it has about 110K on the clock.

Phoned the local ramblers club today, but the bloke who answered just
went on and on.

Not much good as a donor if the engine is shot. Although could be good for hubs and gearbox i suppose.

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

You might be better breaking it.

Not quite the same car but I just broke an E36 Beemer and am now in profit (not by much !!) on it and I still have the engine and kit parts.

Similar circumstances though with my car and an MX5 - enough on the road to create the demand for spares and not too many being scrapped or broken I'd have thought.

I've had loads of people turn up for one thing have a mooch round my garage and go away with arm fulls of the stuff - little bits of trim they haven't been able to find elsewhere etc etc

At this rate I might do another one !!
