Electrolosis and diffs

Anyone tried electrolosising (dunno what it's called) a whole diff? What about calipers? They should be sealed but would it cause any problems inside to bearings and seals etc?

Done my callipers no problem, hung them in by the rubber hose.

Electrolysis does not effect rubber or non rusty bits so you can leave the seals and bearings in no problem.

What diff? Most are ali and electrolysis wont work on them...

Its ali case with steel bearing carriers a steel drain plug and bolts on back plate.
The front flange is steel and that is it.

diff is defo all ali but you can just pop anything else rusty in for a clean. it only effects the rust so you are safe to leave all non metal bits attached, just give everything a good wash out and oil up after as whatever you electrolise wil be very happy to rust up again very quick.

Just checked my caliper carriers after leaving them in for 12 hours. The results are truly amazing, i thought they were ready for the scrap bin before but now they look like new!
