xe20 or ecotec which?

hi

have the opportunity of aquiring either a 16v redtop or ecotec.

Would like to know of any pros or cons between them. The redtop has had a new head etc.

Thanks

Hall

Redtop (c20xe) = 150bhp
Ecotec (x20xel) = 135bhp

Same block, slightly different head and injection setup to meet modern eco standards.

Redtop is the better engine, but usuually a little dearer and always a little older!

I think you will find it easier to get tuning parts for the redtop if you ever wanted

given the choice of both, go red top, more power, more tuning bit available. if its a new head, well the old coscast head is better, so its unlikely to be that one.

ecotec is newer and cheaper, and the one i went for.

as for fitting, both are the same

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Would be the red top for me, infact hold on... oh yeah I've got one already! (I'm not biased honest )

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.
