hydraulic clutch fitting size
Hello all,
I'm just trying to re-plumb the hydraulic clutch. The bit of pipe that sticks out of the gearbox end was damaged when I stripped the car, and I
need a new part to screw in. It will be a male fitting, and I initially thought it was M10*1 but this seems to be too big. Its from a silvertop 2.0
mondeo.
Any ideas what thread it is - I was hoping to pick up the bitsa t Newark
Thanks
Hugh

Would it be possible to reuse the original fitting and just replace the pipe?
Couple of pictures of the hole and the original pipe and fitting might help to identify what kind of connection it is.

There are two threads on the cylinder - 10mm for the pipe , and 8mm for the bleed nipple - have you got the two mixed up ?

Thanks all
Another victory for locostbuilders.
The bleed nipples still in place - so I guess its an M10*1 - It's just the M10*1 fitting I have didn't seem to want to screw in and I
didn't want to damage the thread, as I'd have to split the engine and box again..... I'll have another go tonight with a bit of
hydraulic oil as a lubricant.
Stupidly I chucked the old fitting straight in the bin as it was pretty corroded and I didnt think I'd reuse it - should have measured it then
DOH!
I went into my local ford dealer this lunchtime to see if they could provide just that bit - No - just the whole cylinder at £146+VAT.
I may see you at Newark if you're going - unfortunately just saturday morning for me.
Thanks again
Regards
Hugh

Blake,
The bit I need is the little supply pipe to the cylinder, but if its M10*1 male at the cylinder end then I have a couple of fittings left over from my
brakes. I'll try it tonight and post here if not.
Thanks very much for the offer though
