Hi all..
My car's design is now started, I made a CAD sketch to see how would look a 7-styled body with mid engine. Here it is:

I will make a full glassfiber body, no external paneling.
Spec:
Engine: 1000 to 1300 cc bike.
Chain drived diff
Whell base: 2200
Track (F&R): 1300
Engine bay lenght: 550 (to be adjusted if needed)
Cockpit lenght: 1450 (I'm 1900 tall...)
Cockpit width: about 1000 (passenger admited below 65 kg...)
I've made a parametrized CAD sketch of the front and rear suspensions to see the roll center movements, the camber gains, the Ackerman steering
etc. but now I have to know the right dimensions of the parts I will use, starting front the wheel to the frame.
Does anyone has the dimensions of calipers, discs, hubs and knuckles (Cortina, MX5 or something like these)?
I saw old Renault's (R25, R18, Fuego) in a scrapyard and these uprights seem perfect except the rear mounted rack but I can manage it. These
parts are much more easy to find here in Belgium.
The other solution is to make the uprights by myself, a leathed core with welded plates.
What do the experts think of that?

Interesting layout. I am not sure if I like it or not cant make up my mind yet. I think at least one (not sure what they were called) of the things
that go right behind the drivers head and taper down to the rear to smooth the air going down the back might look good and balance the look. I
think the lotus 11 had one if you need a pic to see what I ment.

I suggest you repost this in the Mid-engine section...it seems completely out of place here.....looking good though..
