Ka "stuck throttle"
Somewhat off-topic question in case anyone can help.
I'm trying to sort out why a Ka is exhibiting intermittent "throttle stuck open" characteristics. Engine sometimes racing on
depressing the clutch to change gear.
Thottle position sensor?

Which engine is it?
The actuall throttle body is made of cheese, so its possible that it has snapped causing the return spring to not work properly...
(I know this is the case on the 1.6 KAck sport)

Sorry - stupid oversight! Engine is the 1.3 Endura-E.
The car is W reg.
The throttle spring seems OK.

This is not a throttle body problem, I would suggest you have a problem in the multi plug to the throttle position sensor.
Ford did a modified wiring harness. This was made standard fitment on 2001 models.
Try that first.

I fixed a fiesta recently with this issue by disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes. It resets the ECU, fools it into thinking where the TPS is
resting currently is the start point. If its shifted slightly, this is a temporary fix, and will confirm its the TPS. then you can change the TPS for
a working one and do the same again.
Worth a shot as a free fix!

Also clean out the throttle/butterfly and idle control valve.

Mines just started doing this, i've not looked into fixing yet, but a quick fix seems to be turn of and re start engine then it's fine, so
must reset something. i will get around to cleaning the tps plug oneday!

clean idle valve, and tps wiring normal sorts them
