Scrap yard donor cars!
I have worked out from A. Graham Bell's book of Forced Induction that a 50mm (approx) single throttle body will provide me with enough tuning
capacity up to 250bhp. 1.8 zetec, Eaton m45.
Which donor cars, scrap yard cars or any other common vehicle has an easy to use throttle body of that size?
If you also know of most common cars found for injectors (350cc/min) or a good intercooler then that would be a help too!
Regards,
Chaz

Did the MG rovers have an upgrade to 50mm?
Maybe some of the later special edition models have it as standard.

nissan 200sx runs 370cc injectors as std, cheap as chips as most want to upgrade.
ex-skyline intercoolers are large and good quality
nissan Sr20DET TB is 60mm as std iirc
check sxoc.com for classifieds.

Rover turbo, saab or volvo are good sources for large injectors.
For an intercooler, it can be tricky to get one that fits in the nose of a 7 as most are wide. Mazda Rx7, nissan sunny gtir might be worth a look and
measure. Folk have fitted various ones, so worth a search on here.

Celica GT4 or MR2 turbo:
Throttles 55-62mm depending on model and year, injectors are 440s or 540s depending on model. Should be able to get throttle body for ~40 quid on
fleabay, injectors and rail for ~30 or 60 depending on year.
Chargecoolers on the better models (GT4, not mr2) but a full setup will cost you £200ish and the pre-rad won't fit up front in a 7-esque. The
air to air intercoolers from the 185 and mr2 are extremely low pressure drop and quite effective for a short time, but heat soak fairly fast in their
top mount location, might be acceptable up front?

The MR2 intercooler is mounted on the side, behind the n/s air intake!

I know, but I can't be arsed explaining where they are in all models using the same engine and IC combo (St165, st185, st205, mr2 MkII v1,2 and
3), my point being the ATA intercoolers are not bad but a tad small (it's the exact same IC core), rather than to document their location on all
cars! In the GT4 they're top mounted and interwarmers rather than intercoolers.
