Pinto Parts Checklist
I have a 2 litre pinto, picture:
What parts do i still need for my engine?
I already have:
- the carbs
- an oil filter (not pictured)
- dipstick
- distributor
- engine mounts
- cambelt all set up
I still need an alternator but do i also need a mount for this from a pinto?
Basically i asked a ford parts company to help supply all the parts i need and they said "come back with a parts list and we'll do
it"
Spanks for any help

Water pump.
Water pump pulley.
Amplifier and Coil to match the dizzy.
Belt for pump and alternator.
Forget the Sierra alternator- its massive, heavy and of no benefit that I'm aware of. Get an alloy one from a Bedford Rascal van. Fabricate your
own bracket for it.
"Ford parts company"?
What's that? Will they be new parts?
Get you arse down the scrappy and pull off the bits you need.

Buying all that stuff new will cost a fortune won't it? Is it really worth it for a crappy old 105BHP Pinto?
I'd recommend you get them 2nd hand.
HTH means Hope that helps!
ATB, (what can you make of that one?! )

Which carbs are you using?
If it is twin 40's then you need to think about a crankcase breather system and the vacuum advance on the dizzy - it won't be possible to
use it!
I can give you further details if you need them

'btw' you if you use the 45's and decide to get an Aldon dizzy with no vacuum advance (which costs about £200) ring em up and ask
them to convert your old points unit. They will and it only costs about £50. well worth it
AFAIK BTW TA TA BOW WOW DODGY BOVRIL ATB TOODLE PIP ETC ETC - whats wrong with me? OPPS I'm getting abbreviationitis![](/images//smilies/bigsmile.gif) ![](/images//smilies/bigsmile.gif)
You will also need a lowered (or is it raised?) sump and the filler cap needs moving
