Are all capri axles the same?

As in the title, are all capri axles the same?

I know some are LSD (from the 2.8i special) but are all the others pretty much the same thing?

The reason for asking is that I'd considered buying a quaiffe ATB LSD and figured any old capri axle would be a good place to put it rather than forking out a small fortune for a very old capri axle with LSD fitted.

Thanks,

Mark

They have come in different lengths over the years but the diffs are the same. There seems to be a bit of a question as to whether an ATB is the ideal diff for a rear wheel drive axle though, due to it's behaviour when one wheel has very little grip (it will spin the inside wheel if provoked enough), where as the old ZF plate diff is fully serviceable, and can be adjusted to suit the car.
