R1 No Drive
I'm after a bit of advice, I've recently put a replacement engine in the MNR, however, I'm unable to get any drive from the
engine
When I pull the paddle to put it into gear I can feel it clunk into gear, plus if I twist the prop it feels like it's engaged but I'm
getting no drive at all, I've disconnected the clutch cable incase that was making the clutch slip but still nothing
I'm sure it's something simple (something I've done :-) ) but it's got me baffled at the moment - any advice / suggestions
welcomed

Sound like the clutch is stuck on to me, although I'm unsure of the best way to unstick it on a bike engine. I would guess try to rock the car
back and forth whilst in gear ?
I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.

Which R1? Presume 03 or earlier.
It sounds like you've pushed the clutch diaphragm too far and it's flipped inside-out. If so it'll nee the clutch cover off and
stripping. You then need to make sure the clutch doesn't throw too far either by adjustment or fitting a pedal stop.

Sorry yes it's a 2003 R1, I'm not running the standard diaphragm as got a Barnett conversion in it - the only difference to my old
engine is that I took the additional clutch plate out that the old one was running

Just out of curiosity what are you doing with your old engine? What's up with it?

It needs a rebuild, I'm going to get it rebuilt most likely over the winter but currently it has the fly wheel stuck onto the crank, been into 2
garages and no ones been able to get it off - so just bought this one to get me back on the road

A friend of mine had a similar issue with his bike engine MK not so long ago. He had just replenished the LSD with grease, took his car out for a spin
and lost drive at the first junction he cam to. He could engage all gears, clutch felt fine but no drive. It transpired that he had slightly over
filled the LSD with grease and one of the drive shafts had been pushed out just far enough to disengage the splines. Took us a while to spot that one
