Registration checklist
In anticipation of passing my IVA re-test in a couple of weeks, I am getting paperwork together ready to send off. From what I gather I need to
send:
- V55/5 or V55/4
- V627/1
- IVA pass certificate (original or is photocopy ok?)
- Copy of insurance cover note
- Copy of driving license
- CD of build photos
- Cheque for first tax £230
- Cheque for first reg £55
- Receipts (what do I need to provide receipts for? Almost everything was purchased second hand, including the kit.)
I am going for a Q plate, so no donor V5 to send. Am I missing anything?

I seem to remember the address to send it to changed a while ago, I think the right one in on this page
https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration/kitbuilt-vehicles
which was updated less than 2 weeks ago.

You can get 6 months tax if you prefer, doesn't have to be full 12 months.
Receipts only for major components, so not every last little bit, I only sent half a dozen.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure
