Book size Locost for sale
Book size Locost for sale. Looking for £3,500.
Car was built by myself.
Reason for sale is that family commitments have taken over in the past few years and realistically will not get any more time in the near future
either and could really do with the space.
The car will require some work to get back on the road but comes with great parts.
• Car is fully registered, SVA’d and on a Q plate
• Chassis is original book size
• 2l Blacktop zetec engine
• Type9 5 speed gearbox
• GSXR 750 throttle bodies with ITG Megaflow filter
• Megasquirt MS1 v3 ECU
• 4 into 1 exhaust manifold
• Dedion rear axle with custom made drive shafts for book chassis
• Sierra 3.62 LSD
• Custom made propshaft
• Cortina uprights
• Escort quick rack and alloy mounts
• 13” Compomotive black alloys
• R888 tyres (unused)
• Trail Tech Vapor display
• RMD steering wheel with snap-off key operated quick release
• Immobiliser
• Techedge wideband sensor and display gauge
• Triton black seats
• Sabelt harnesses
I was in the process of upgrading the cooling system to a Polo radiator and a performance exhaust. The parts definitely still needed will be a new
exhaust silencer, radiator and battery.
The bonnet also needs to be renewed to allow for the new exhaust exit over the rails. I am happy to include a spare sheet of alu for this.
The car has been stored in a dry garage and is located in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

very very close to my perfect car.
If i'd not been out of work for 9 months I'd have been down this weekend & now arguing with my wife why i've bought it
Good luck with the sale.

And if possible, could I have a pic from directly in front but from low level, just so I can see how my non tested yet car compares to your passed car

Sadly I can't uplaoad pics to me photo section, My car has the lower bar exposed by a nose cone that isn't very high in build. I just
wondered if yours had a similar looking area below the nose and if it was ok through IVA
Very nice looking car by the way, a step up the build ladder than mine, and it looks very easy to get back on the road, am sure the bonnet can be
reused too with a little bit of metal work !! so would only need a £50 battery and some exhaust and a silencer , happy days for someone out there

Thanks Jason. Yes the nose finishes just above the 1” bottom bar, you can just about make it out in the photo.
It was not raised as an issue when the car was tested.

Fantastic news
If you get a chance on your car, cut out the shape of the exhaust in your bonnet and that's another issue resolved 
Just remember, measure twice, and cut once
How does the zetec look underneath re clearance ? what about how it makes the car feel ? was it the first engine in the car ?
Am running a x/flow, but am a bit worried by some oil showing on the sump, and a total lack of knowledge about my engine and it's state of tune
or condition so a zetec might be my next option.

I had a xflow during the build but the car tested with the zetec. (I used to own the Mondeo that donated the engine)
Xflows can fit under the bonnet and fuel lines etc are easier with the carbs too.
Certainly would suggest keeping the xflow for the test as emission targets are easier to hit. (or at least that used to be the case)
Having sat in a few xflows they are pretty quick too. (I would be more than happy with a xflow powered car)

If you're giving the xflow away I'll have it 🙂. I appear to be a serial collector of oily xflow bits of unknown provenance. I
find it adds to the interest.

I'll be keeping it for the moment and if it gets onto the road I'll see how it feels, as winter is coming it could be a good time to
change it if it fails before then. I'll keep you in mind though mike
Lars, as like my car, just cut the bonnet to clear the exhaust

Having been reluctant to sell the car, I have now got permission spend a little time to get it back on the road
(Hopefully make the most of the current COVID restrictions)
So have decided to keep hold of the car for the time being.
