Westy Fuel Tank

Hi All...I have just aquired a Westy Fuel Tank at a givaway price. Has anyone out there addapted one, its the correct length
to fit std chassis however it seems the only way to fit it will be on fabricated brackets which locate it slightly higher than the panhard rod.Anyone tried this.....cheers Rob

Hi Rob,
I can't actually help with your question, sorry, but I am in the same situation and have an option on a fuel tank from a Westy Sei Wide-body. I'm trying to find out the dimensions of the tank at present and was thinking along similar lines to fit the tank to clear the panhard rod. I'm using a de-dion axle so my PH rod is even farther back than normal and even a standard tank was in danger of fouling it.

My main worry is raising the CoG as the tank will need to be raised perhaps as much as 3 inches. Not sure how much of a difference this will make to CoG but I guess it's probably similar to having a passenger in the car so maybe not too much of a problem.

Do you know that the dims are of your tank and whether it is the same as the sei wide westy?

Cheers,
Craig.
