News relating to Rover donors

(1) Parts situation -- Caterpillar are doing good to rebuild a parts distribution network for Rover using former dealers and indpendant speciaist. Watch this space http://www.xpart.com

(2) Rover 75 1.8 donors -- for K series donors if you intend to retain the MEMS 3 ECU it might be best to avoid the 75 series and post 2001 Freelanders the reason being the security ecu to MEMS ecu is much more complex to deal with than the older Lucas 5as system.

Although the Rover 25, 45 and MGTF also use the MEMS3 system the security system is similar to that used in old MEMS 2 and Mems 1.9 system.

(3) Rover EOBD diagnostics i have an Elmscan OBD diagnostics PC interface fully working on the my 75 using info from this source http://www.members.aol.com/roverron32/carpics/Homepage/eobd.htm
Should work to varying degrees on most Rovers with the 16 pin OBD connector,
