Zetec Donor
Hi Folks
I am about to start stripping my donor zetec engine. It is a 97 2.0l silver top. I was going to strip it completely and throw most of the parts away
so that I am just left with the basic engine.
I intend to run it with bike throttlebodies and megasquirt.
Before I get stuck in to it is there anything that I should keep? At the moment it is a complete engine with all electrics etc.
Also I removed the HT leads and I see the sparks plugs are swimming in water. It is probably rain water as the engine sat outside before i picked it
up. Is this a problem?
Thanks

Shouldn't be too much of a problem as you'll be changing the spark plugs anyhow.....I wouldn't throw too much of it out if I was
you.....never now when you might need spare etc..and chances are that things like the water pump will still be in good useable nick (saves you £30)
Obviously depends on what you plan to do with it and how much $$$£££$$$ your willing to chuck at it! oli.
If your not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room!

Keep every electric plug you can find, every water pipe and connector, thermostat housing, coil and leads, alternator and idler pulleys. You are not
going to need the air con or power steering pumps and will almost certainly be changing to an escort water pump. Flywheel weighs a ton and you will
want to change to a 1.8 wheel. Keep the fuel injection stuff in case you use the throttle body, throttlepot and slow running air bypass.
And don't throw anything away!
