What engine did YOU fit in??
Hey guys, i love hearing what you all have done with your cars and also think it would be a good resource to know what engines fit into a standard
locost chassis.
Soooo, what engine have you fit into your "standard" locost chassis (built to the dims of RC or McSorley)?
(I also want to see how many different types of engines we can come up with )

Rover V8, with Weber 500 Carb.
Nice lazy 200+ Bhp
No straining, or revving the guts out of it, just nice smooth power and plenty of it.
Best bit of all, the all Alloy Rover V8 weighs in at about 6kg more than a Pinto 2 litre ie its not a boat anchor

2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

My beloved Lotus, fitted to its Getrag box, shortened XJ6 prop, to a Sierra dif.
(I bet that's a one off)
I do need a +4 chassis to get it in though.

Again Zetec on 45's. If you make the chassis your self there is no such thing as standard

Alfa V6
Alfa 3.0l 12v V6,
I suppose the pic on the left gives it away.
Not the easiest to fit, but very responsive engine, standard fuel injection, 190bhp and I think its the only one I know (so far, good luck Steve) in a
seven type chassis.
Oh, and it sounds fantastic when you push it.

Not the first Alfa 3.0 V6 in a Seven I'm afraid, but still very rare, and looks amazing:

I'm using a Zetec on standard injection in my Indy (yes, it can be done).

1800 cvh with twin dell'oto's is on it's way. I probably have enoung space for a second enigne in there as well though. But I did
build a +4, so it'll definitely fit in a book chassis.
