Question on my new toy ?

Just got it home. It’s a 4x4 chia. Just could not say no.....

Question 1)

Is the 4wd Mt75 gearbox, front diff, Drive shafts worth any thing?
I don’t want to spend the time stripping it to see it sell on eBay for a quid Oh yeh it’s the 2l Dohc engine so is the box the same as a Cossie?

Looks like I have already flogged the alloys. The aim is to sell enough to make the bits I want free and it shouldn’t be to hard

Q2) Will the front brake callipers fit non 4x4 hubs?

I love bangers
Cheers

Gearbox and front axle should be worth at least 50 - 100 quid on ebay.

How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

When I put the bits of my 4 x 4 Sierra on ebay, raised £225, car cost me £175, . The front prop shaft, if good, is sort after, (£50). Gearbox, (mine was V6 type). (£30). Sold all the seats, and trim. The heated front and rear screens, shockers, etc, etc ,etc.
The front brakes will fit the standard Sierra uprights, but you will need to fabricate some 5mm packers to push the disks, (mine were ventilated type), out to fit in the calipers, and fit longer, by 5mm, holding bolts. Not a dificult job. HTH Ray

To make a car go faster, just add lightness. Colin Chapman - OR - fit a bigger engine. Chippy

Wasa

My donor was a V6 XR4X4, I joined the Ford Sierra Owners club forum and placed an ad and sold quite a bit of stuff, I also listed it on Ebay and sold quite a bit. Things like nice interiors, headlights with washers and bumpers with fog lights seem popular.I then took the shell to the scrappy (not breakers) and ended up making a profit on the deal.

I may still have the contact details for one buyer who bought the front driveshafts for his rally car, it has a welded diff and eats front driveshafts so he buys as many as he can find.

Hope this helps
