can a sierra estate be used for a donor for the haynes roadster, im guessing the only difference between that and tha hatch or saloon is the prop shaft?

Identical other than the arse end of the body.

There is a difference in the rear beam/semi trailing arms but as you wont be using these there shouldn't be a problem
