Mercedes 190E or Jaguar XJ6 (XJ40)
Hi, I am pretty new to this can someone please shed some light. Will it be possible to use either a a Merc 190 (2.0) or Jag XJ6 (2.9, 3.2 or 4.0)
(both RWD) as a donor for a Locost? If so, would it be good idea? And another quick one - is it possible to do it as an automatic if I use either of
these, and again if so would it be a good idea? Any help hugely appreciated. Cheers, Dan.

Possible? Yes. Easy? Probably not so easy. I suspect one of the main problems would be getting it to fit.
Both have been done or are in progress. Speedyxjs for Jags, someone else (can't remember who) has a Mercedes Cosworth engine.

Less than ideal donors -- if you want big and heavy build a Cobra -- Locosts & Sevens are about small and light.

Im using a manual 2.9 XJ40 to get me through SVA but i will be then upgrading to a 4 litre (poss S/C)
You wont get one in a standard chassis so you will have to think big. The auto box in my tintop (X300) is pretty big but then im sure your passengers
wont mind giving up their legroom just to feel the power
There are pics in my archive. If you want any more info, just u2u.
PS where on planet earth are you?
How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

If you have not purchased either, make life easy and consider a Ford Pinto or Bike engine.
