help please
Hi i'm Wurz.
New to all this so here goes. Can I ask for some advice please. I am looking at doing a kit car. Not sure which one must be cheap (ish)I have a Sierra
2ltr dohc efi engine. I have been asking around and am being told to change it to carb. Tiger said will not fit there cars. So was it money wasted
buying this. Cheers Wurz

Welcome to the locost world here, sure yuo'll find all your answers.
Regarding the DOHC engine theres hardly any tuning parts and it doesn't respond well. Your better off ditching it and getting a zetec, they are
very cheap and dead easy to tune.
There'll be a recommendation along soon to use a bike engine so get ready

for the £££ price it will be hard to beat the robinhood zero, its quite a bit bigger than a book car as well.

better off looking for a kit you like first rather than let the engine stear you, if first time what about looking for a part built kit and finishing
it off unless you are in for the long haul!

Will a part build can pose plenty of problems too! Like knowing how ro why something was screwed together as it was... I have pretty much taken every
part off the car I bought part built at some time or another!
Try to get to a show, and see what you like. They all have +ve and -ve points to them. I needed something to fit a 6' 6" lanky bloke in
(me). I settled on a standard sized Staurt Taylor, and a hacksaw for my legs...!

Whoa whoa whoa, a decision made so soon and not even a hint of BEC? You don't say where you're based but the Newark kitcar show is
weekend after next (IIRC) if you can make it down there.

Bike engined car
CEC - car engined car
It's all in code mate!
cheers
Chris
Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Might be a bit of a trek but I'd say go to the show, you'll learn alot (and probably have a million more questions) within a few hours.
As above BEC is a bike engined car, I'm shocked you haven't had a flood of responses suggesting you use a bike engine as that's what
tends to happen here.

Take your time looking at all the kit car manufacturers. One thing you have to take into account is where the manufacturer is as it could be a long
drive for you to visit them and boy do you visit them......
Regards
Tim
ps. you may find that your engine will fit in a Vindicator. Later, when you know what you want to do, you can then upgrade later and (if you have
them) can use the parts from the Sierra.

There will always be wasted money on a project like this.
Count on this: it will never be "cheap". Some kits are more complete than others. Most build cost estimates are slightly optimistic. Just
ever so slightly. But you won't care after a while!
