Well I have finally gotten around to building (most of) the back end of the chassis, incorporating the BMW rear axle assembly.

This afternoon i fitted one wheel to check clearances, and suddenly the pile of steel started looking something like a big go kart! I'm well chuffed. Rescued attachment DSC_0038.jpg

It's a great feeling isnt it.

Makes all of the hard work worthwhile.

is there anyone else as sad as me, that recognised that as a quote from Mark of "is born" fame?

For a bonus point can anyone identify the series he said it in?

right, I'm off to the train spotting forum....

is it 'a race car is born', where he builds and race's a 7?
its watching these that pushed me to sell my car and order my kit

I was a bit unsure about whether I'd have the clearance at the back end on mine but looking at this I think I should be fine.

Hope to be there too soon, spent the weekend final welding and dressing of the chassis....
