Got the turbo fitted and all working, and took it for a test drive tonight....
OH MY GOD!!!
Pulled out of the drive, and gave it a boot full! - Pulls away almost twice as quick as before the turbo was fitted!
Have got some more work to do to make it a lot safer, (Using drainpipe for boost hose connections currently), but now i know it works, ill get it done
properly!
excellent!
What engine is it?
Bet it felt like warp factor 10!
Nice one

if thats all you got drainpipe is fine
what engine?? also pics and vid are required
Its a 2.2 Renault 25 engine and transaxle.
Pictures in my photo album without the turbo. Turbo picture to follow!
The drainpipe is above the turbo, so will melt eventually. I need to change it for some aluminium tube and re-route it.
Also need to put the oil feed and return in fully.
The idea behind the trial, was to see if the stock ECU deals with the added boost. - It seems to, so ill leave it in for now.
It did feel like warp factor 10, and the revs werent all that high either! Should be able to get a load more out of it.
take it easy. It sound a blast but make sure you don't blast the engine

So from the 110 dead Hp you should now have about 150ish ones?
According to wikipedia you should have about
175HP

Standard engine had 123hp allegedly, so i reckon your figure isnt too far off. Until i get it all installed properly and tested, ill not know for sure.
Its good though, as the car only weighs in at 900kg!
Finally did it. I got around to taking off the sump of the spare engine i had. It turns out, that there is a blank casting on the side of the sump,
which i drilled out and inserted a piece of ali tube, and welded with alumiweld.
The sump i modified is ali, and the one its replacing is steel, so its an upgrade as well!!
Going to have a look and see what else i can swap over as performance upgrades once the turbo is complete.
