I'll start.

Been spending much time fitting doors to the Kimini. Doors are a big PITA... I highly recommend avoiding them! In work now is sealing the passenger compartment to keep out wind, dust, dirt, fumes, and other nasties.

I've just laid up my first section of the main body mold, the left hand side....should do the other side this weekend...then the cockpit area soon after...then the front...

Erm....still lots to do really...

Fabricating petrol tank using 304 stainless steel.

pedal box, basically trying tofit a square peg in a round hole.

I've hacked my sacrificial locost chassis in half,bust a bollock carrying the engine and box up to my shed,rearranged the bits on the floor,used several trees worth of paper doing sketches and started making the prototype de dion end plates out of mdf,plastic sewer pipe,etc. No sticky backed plastic yet ( the Blue Peter generation will understand)

Briefly...............Back in the dark old days of the 1960's and 70's,when British tv had 2 or 3 channels. Children had the golden opportunity of watching BP. The highlight of this institution,apart from the elephant pissing on the floor,was the presenters making things from washing up bottles and sticky backed plastic.
Obviously watching it has made a lasting impression on me.

I've been working my fat arse off at my real job and so haven't done enourmous amounts of car work in the last two weeks. That said, I've finished cutting and welding the main tubes between the cockpit bulkhead and the front suspension box. I've done some refurbishment work on my front suspension parts. I've been researching alternate strut inserts for the rear suspension. And I've been measuring lots of seats, looking for something narrow enough to fit I'm genuinely considering cutting up my chassis and adding 50-100mm up the middle of the cockpit just to ease seat choice. And, yes, I know I should have sorted this out before welding metal.

I'm hosting a BBQ of local Locost builders on Sunday 30th and I'll be running the tape measure over the Suzuki Vitara seats that are in one car. If any of you guys will be in Brisbane on the 30th you're more than welcome to come

I think the Australian equivalent to Blue Peter was "The Curiousity Show". For a long time I was sure I could build just about anything from egg cartons, icy-pole sticks and enough paste Ahhh, happy younger days (daze).

AFAIK there wasn't any show like that here (California.) Too bad it sounds like. I was left to my own imagination, using Tinkertoys, Erector Set, and Lincoln Logs... I found Legos boring...

Just finished building a MegaJolt Light Junior Edis based ignition controller. http://picasso.org/mjlj Still need the coilpack and plug wires. This gives's me rpm based triggers, ups the redline, adds a shift light and rev-limiter cut. Plus it's good practice for my UltraMegaSquirt that I want to build when it's released.

Other than that I've started collecting pieces for the mold making. Wood, nails, screws, filler, Kilz, etc...
