I have a chance of making moulds from one and make a chassis jig.
What engine would you think would be a good choice?

clairetoo - 18/7/10 at 06:24 PM

I like `em
As for engine choice - since the layout is mid/rear engine , how about a nice little V6

designer - 18/7/10 at 06:28 PM

It is a stunning car.

Miks15 - 18/7/10 at 06:32 PM

loose the renault badge and itd look pretty good!

scootz - 18/7/10 at 06:36 PM

I've always liked them... stunning little cars, but just let down by the feeble (IMHO) power-plant!

That said, it's such a rare beastie that it might be financial-folly to fiddle with an engine-swap... not that that's stopped me before!

As for doing a kit build... why not! In an ideal world I would go for a Type-R engine, but settle for a Duratec!

V6 sound a good idea, which one though.

The car is a friend of mines and when i have done with it, it will be for sale.
I think he will want quite a few beer tokens though.

Mazda V6 would be my choice - small , light and revvy , available as a 1.8 , 2.0 , and 2.5

MK9R - 18/7/10 at 07:10 PM

The 1.8 (K8) is in the Mx3
The 2.0 (KF) is in the 323
And the 2.5 is in the 626/Mx6 and Ford Probe .
So no shortage just yet

blakep82 - 18/7/10 at 10:13 PM

the race wind deflector was an interesting contraption

a bit cumbersome

stuleah - 19/7/10 at 07:01 AM

Yeah that was definately a bit "different".
I was thinking of using an MR2 screen.

stuleah - 19/7/10 at 07:03 AM

Interesting may look into that if we build it.

It needs a Alpine badge! Pretty sophisticated car in 1995. Aluminium space frame was included.

What's wrong with a Renault F4RT?

A good looking hardtop will be nice though.
