Not being funny here but it looks like the front diff in my honda QUAD bike!
Apparently out of a Quad. My Honda is similar. Or maybe it's a rear diff out of a shaft drive bike that's had output half-shafts mated to
it. I'd surely like to see more detailed photographs.

Steve, wouldn't a shaft drive bike just have a crownwheel/pinion and no diff?
I think I'd go along with quad idea..
Oh BTW Steve, just saw your latest updates.....looking good........getting the shape mapped out is a fun part of the bodywork...
Looks like it to me too, Honda or Kawasaki. I think Kawasaki do a limited slip for their 400 Mule.
