2 Seater Formula Renault!!
russbost - 6/3/12 at 09:27 AM

Just thought this might be of interest. Procar Motorsport of Slovakia recently brought over a Formula Renault chassis from Slovakia to our place so we could extend it into a 2 seater for them, (this is the old spaceframe chassis obviously) quite gratifying they would bother to send the chassis all that way just for us to do the work, but anyway, we got it all done & it went back to them a bit b4 Xmas. They now have the car back together with its new bodywork & sent me a link to some pics - just thought it might be of interest to some of you.
I think the car looks stunning!

Second link below may not be entirely worksafe as there are some scantily clad young ladies sharing time with the car!

& video of the car in action (I think this one would be considered worksafe, tho' it does briefly feature the 2 girls from above)

that looks like it could be a lot of fun to be in as a passenger.

Problem with the 1+1 configuration is passenger gets to see the back of drivers head and world going by the sides, which isn't much fun. Surely if you want to be randomly thrown around by unknown forces without seeing what's coming at you you just sit at the back on a roller coaster?

Looks like great fun... Now the question is, when is a Furore going to hit the tracks???

blakep82 - 6/3/12 at 11:46 AM

didn't see the car in the pics...

looks good, any photos of the work taking place itself?
thought the drivers roll hoop looks a little low though

Yes, the car can be difficult to see on some of those pics!

I'll try & dig some pics out of the chassis extension & yes, drivers roll hoop is low, customers choice, not mine, if you put a straight edge across the rear roll hoop down to the over knee hoop it is inline with the top of the drivers roll hoop, I also wanted to put braces to the hoop, but they didn't want them!

Maybe Formula 4????, 750mc might allow it. Well they should if you take out 2nd seat, then its a single seat race car.

If not, not sure... Single make championship

Ok, so you'll obviously have one for this single make championship, I'll have one, who else would like to sign up???

Yeah! But not as much fun as a Furore, you can't drive it on the road!

To make it uber challenging, you should move the pedalset to the rear seat, leaving the steering wheel at the front.

Now that sounds like a Top Gear challenge!

Russ,

That is how you should do your new bodywork! (The car, not the ladies...)
How is that going?

But that would makeit look less like modern F1, not more! It would also mean a complete redsign!

New sidepods are on hold for the minute till I can get up to my fibreglass fabricator & we can look at it together, trying to control it from a distance wasn't working.
