Hey Alan!

Get back in that workshop building and spend less time on the internet!

You're almost as bad as me!

Hi Chris, my car is solid modelled in Mechanical desktop 4.0, which at the end of the process produces regular autocad dwg drawings.

What's your project like?

Just minor progress. Particularly looking for opinions on the rear.

Looking good as is IMO, but will you be breaking up the otherwise large flat area below the rear lights with dummy bumper etc?

I think the radius is just right. Any more and it will loose it's shape, and look like a jelly mould!

Agree with John, needs something below lights/number plate area.

What about ducting in the middle 3/4 like on the rear of most new high performance cars?
An example can be found on the rear view of the car in this website;
http://www.coram-automotive.com/
Check specification for image.

Should also help with ground effect and downforce at rear!

Alan B - 25/10/02 at 01:44 PM

Thanks Guys.
Great feedback......

Yes, I have plans for the rear..the number plate recess(now done), plus a centre lower duct/opening for the exhaust(s) and lower side vents...

I'll put a sketch up on the site.....
Cheers all, and keep up the comments

Alan B - 25/10/02 at 02:56 PM

Ok guys, sketch added...very rough, but you'll get the idea

yep. agreed, looks good...very aggressive...

May have some frame and hinging issues, but definitely worth a look....

Cheers..

I see what you mean!
I just checked your chassis pics.

It is difficult to judge where the body ends and chassis starts from pictures.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!

Terry,

Sometimes the best ideas come from not knowing all the constraints. I hadn't considered a diffuser until then because I knew of the space limitations....but I am now, because I think it can be done
You made me consider it....

So no excuses needed...
