Bitten hero - 9/6/06 at 09:55 PM

Hi all ,
Can anybody point me in the best direction for getting a Quaife atb chain drive diff , Is there any places at a good price
cheers gary

Fatgadget - 9/6/06 at 10:04 PM

Sorry to mention the obvious. How about approaching Quaife themself?

Bitten hero - 9/6/06 at 10:16 PM

I did think that was the most obvious place but thought that somebody else might have some on a deal or the such like, cheers gary

zcars sell a lsd sierra modified diff for about £500. I bought one from a locost member for £275 as he didn't use his in the end. Bargains can be found.
If you know someone with a lathe then you could get them to modify one for you.

HI again-
Thanks nitram 38 for the advice etc . I think i will give quaife a ring on monday to get a price etc and then make a decision .

If you're considering the BEC LSD they have, the prices are on thier site - it's around $1000US.

I have a nice one for sale. Brand new. More details in the for sale section.

just finished my own - had B&C make up a sprocket for a standard cossie LSD - should work well when i've worked out how to build the mounts+chain adjuster

total cost for the entire rear axle (hubs, brakes and all) + chain diff = £190 !

Cloudy,

Tell us more about your buggy. It looks wild! More pics too please!

hey geoff, well i'm at a bit of an impass at the moment as regards some of the chassis design - nothing looks quite right. I think i'll open it up to you guys on here to see if you can see any solutions i've missed

Basically its a mid engined chain driven "buggy"
It was originally going to be for offroad use but I decided i'd get more use by making it for the road, but the original styling stuck...

here's the latest mock and a few pics - LONG way to go yet!

I really like it as is , very raw, but maybe you could just add a minimum of cladding, like an Ariel Atom.

Do you have other pictures to show us?

cloudy - 13/10/06 at 02:18 PM

finished the design today, so with the cladding should look something like this, It's a bit angular so I might spruce this up as I go...

Not much else to show at the moment, only the barest chassis is done...

Is the rake of the new front tubes different from the earlier images?

I like your new sketch , maybe I would change the front end a bit.
