What Engine? cant decide.
CraigJ - 9/8/08 at 01:45 PM

Ive just sold the ZX10 motor i had fitted to my Mongoose as i got bord of the idea of using a bike engine.

Im tempted to go for the K-series that the car was built to take but would like more power, best i can get from a stock VVc is 160bhp. What engines are out there that are light but have a good power figure and dont cost the earth.

Suggestions will be nice and i may still go back to bike power but not sure tbh.

Wasn't the zx10 quick enough then?

CraigJ - 9/8/08 at 01:52 PM

was quick in the bike lol, never drove it in the car, got it all fitted and running but got bord of it. was too easy lol.

Been thinking of a 2L V6 from an FTO 200bhp.

matt.c - 9/8/08 at 01:54 PM

200bhp but weighs a ton!

CraigJ - 9/8/08 at 01:55 PM

ive no idea what it weighs, Id prefer to use an all alloy engine like the k-series, Even thinking of putting an eaton m45 charger on one to crack 200bhp and still be under 450kgs all in.

What about a Focus ST170?

Cheers

How much does that cost, then?

PS, if you put http:// in front of a www address it becomes a clickable link, like this

t4 - 200 bhp .

i know a sylva riot has been fitted with one - easily upped to 250 bhp .

all aluminium engine etc etc , you may get greedy and want to fit 5 or 6 cylinders !

here let me help you .

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VOLVO-S40-2LTR-TURBO-ENGINE_W0QQitemZ170245557666QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item170245557666&_trkparms=72%3A636%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7 C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1318

i think this was a LPT version , but its got everything with it .

I would go for a honda b16a2 engine. Cheap little engines with 160 hp.

Something like this: Linky

I think the seller needs to make himself clear, because he is saying that the auction is for the engine only. If it is, then the fact that the ecu is chipped is irrelevant.
