dip light height
joolsmi16 - 28/7/07 at 11:43 AM

Hi all, I am using a 90mm dip and main/side lights on my build but seem to remember that on the SVA test the Dip light height is measure to the centre of the lens and not the bottom of the lens.

Thanks

All I will say is "SEARCH" or "SVA MANUAL"
These are basic things covered over and over.
How can you build a car without these tools?
I supose it is just lazyness?
You can even get a free sva manual download if you do a search!
Here again for all you lazy people, courtesy of westfield:

Yep I have a manual and the above diagrams but the manual does not say were the dip light is measure from is it the centre or the bottom of the len.

I can remember a call to the SVA centre regarding light positions whether you can fit side/main inbound and it was then mention that the dip is measured differently to all other lights.

If you can find in the SVA manual were it state that measurement is made please post.

Dip is to the bottom of the reflector, main beam is not measured

These are from my copy of the manual which is the March 2004 version, so please correct me if it's been changed.

Its definetly safer for me to measure to the bottom of the lens because 500mm to the centre may be a fail.

But Iam trying to get the light set sitting as low as possible in the front arch.

Thanks again
