CBR 600 carbs on x/flow
Matysiak - 9/11/09 at 03:53 PM

I am about to install a set on 1999 CBR 600 carbs on my 1660 X/flow. It's running a 244 Kent Cam, 41 mm in and 35 mm Exh valves. 1300 pistons. The 40 webers i am currently running have 34 mm chokes, 125 mains, 160 air and F16 emulsion tubes. The car runs well on this setup.

I live in Joburg, South Africa at an altitude+- 5000 ft. Any ideas what i should be drilling the main jets out to?

Any other tips is getting them running okay would be appreciated.

I have basicly the same spec engine as you and I run 600 bike carbs with the mains drilled out to 1.7mm.

Hope that helps.

have you tried searching for Dave Andrews on google (his web site used to be DVA - then it went to DVA Power).

He used to have an old dos program that tried to calculate the best set up for your car. Not sure if it included altitude though.

I have a set of CBR600 carbs on my Toyota 4A-GE engine. Bogg Bros drilled mine to 1.5mm if that helps you gauge anything?
