zetec silvertop rwd starter motor type confirmation??? i just want to confirm the best type to use
if my engine is a good y r
preferably i'd like to use one that does'nt requie a spacer so its as per the factory wanted it in a sence!

i have one number which i think is
lucas lrs707

i have been informed that the sierra cvh/dohc starter motor is a good choice

the pinto starter needs a spacer apparently but i dont really want to go that route, i nearly have all i need to get my engine together in my test rig to connect all the bits n bobs to to see if i can make it fire up!!!

i'm eager to find out if my engine is a goody or a baddy LOL

if its any help my plan is to use a 2.0 silvertop zetec to a 1.8 flywheel (not sure on the clutch yet) alloy rs2000 bellhousing to a campri 2.8i gearbox

hope this is the info that helps

I believe that is correct. I used the starter than came with the CVh engine in my Sierra, and that fitted my Zetec / type 9 with no modifications except grinding the usual bits off the Zetec sump.

In fact I need a new one as well cos mine is getting a bit tired!
