BEC Mid Buggy? Which Engine?
Has anyone got a BEC Middi completed?
Am looking at fitting an R1 (old carb) into a gtm cox style car and looking for info and most common problems.
Cheers

No experience really with the GTM, but think the biggest prob you will find is that any front wheel drive eng/box is very compactly packaged & it
is very difficult with a Midi BEC installation to reduce the distance from front of exh headers to rear of diff chainwheel (assuming you're
using the engine transverse & a chain diff?
That said I believe there is a firm doing a FWD conversion on Minis using the Yamaha lump which must get the unit into the same space as a Mini lump -
can't remember how they get it all in tho' - try Googling Yamaha Mini or BEC FWD Mini or similar???
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

There you go - R1 conversion for mini here. Not cheap, but might give you some ideas for
fabrication, etc.

Yeah looked at that, i wouldnt need the frame, just the diff gears etc
Doubt they would sell just the parts thou.
When you look at the cost of a 100bhp A-Series, price seems to even out (for instance a s/c box costs £1,000 from MED)
