Most likely a stupid idea...
Ok, this probably is a really stupid idea.. but I was looking around a bit on e-bay and similar sites, and I found some shifter go-karts for little
money..
So that got me wondering.. is there any way you could convert a shifter kart into making it road legal? And what would have to be changed in order to
make it legal?
Lights front and rear would be pretty obvious.. as well as indicators, etc..
What about wheels? Are there any wheels avaliable that small that are road legal? (Maybe rain tires have enough thread?)
And what about emissions? That could be tough, keeping it within acceptable limits...
Ah well, a crazy idea it definately is... but just think of how much fun it could be, cruising over the motorways with your bum 1 1/2 inch from the
ground..

Well your head is going to be inline with a 4x4's bumper.
You'ed get the same result much easier jumping off a cliff.

These get street registered how or why they are able to do it is probally something under the eec rules that permits them to be registered. Spain
allowed it so all others had to allow it.......that must have gone down real well with our stuffy red tape makers

You would need a seat belt, handbrake, front brake (i would think) more than likely some sort of suspension, it would never pass the noise test ,
would need all the lights fitting, so headlights rear clusters.
Alot of people have trouble SVAing their locosts, and they at least resemble a car. It would be very very fun if you could, also very very dangerous!
But i guess that would add to the fun. But im pretty sure it would be impossible to make it road legal. Ive heard of people making single seater race
cars road legal, in some distant lands anyway.

Minimum height for the lights may be an issue. You may have to mount the lights in stalks!

There's a guy in Newcastle that's SVA'd a 60s dodgem car. It's on view most days outside his shop in Heaton. I'm told it
does around 90mph.

What if that sucker was seriously quick? Can you imagine being beaten by that? Ouch!
Come to think of it, the first generation 2-seater Honda Hybrids are very quick on an auto-X course with slicks. I've seen em' embarass a
bevy of "fast" cars.
