Steering rack installed today!
FINALLY! I got my Toyota MR2 steering rack installed today. I just can't believe how sensitive that assembly was to miniscule height adjustments. A
mere 2mm of rack location adjustment (up/down) made a big difference in the toe angle in bump/droop.
Now there is less than 2mm of toe-change over 6" of travel and it's welded in.
WHEW! That was the hardest part of the build so far.

Good mix of metric and imperial there, Steve, but I think I know what you mean.
Seriously though, well done and we look forward to seeing a pic

That's not good! Crash n' burn isn't what I was aiming for.... However, nasa's error put them within several miles over a distance of a couple
million miles?
So ANYWAYS ... ... is 2mm toe-in over 25.5mm ok? JEEZ, picky bunch.
BTW - It looks like crap and I'm ashamed to show anyone. Big turd welds all over the place... Let me slather some more weld material all over it
before I take a photo of it anyways.

Steve,
How does that compare to the original MR2?
I'd do some measurements, but my garage is afloat with all the rain we've had lately and I don't like lieing down in cold water!
2mm doesn't sound like much to me, especially as that is the better end of the adjustment scale.
Alan, have you done any measurements for comparison?
Be nice to know what problems, if that is what they are, I will likely come across.

Yes, I had around 0.020" (0.5mm) of toe change, I can't recall if it went in or out relative to suspension travel though. I'll let you know if find
my notes or re-measure it.

Don't you just love the smug ones that get it right first time? Lol!
