Well, it had to happen
On Tuesday morning, 7.45am (ish) I was going around a roundabout, just under 7,000rpm 2nd gear, annoying a Ford RS2000 (late model) and was about to
overtake on the exit when.................... the engine lost compression So 3 pistons on my Mozzie.
On the bright side, I ordered a Trackday 1380 from www.morspeed.co.uk with a 3.9 FD. Looking at 115bhp which isn't bad for a A Series engine
My new wheels also turned up after 2 months as well. So not all been bad

Aww. That's a shame. Are you aware of the reason it failed? Fatigue? Oil starvation?
At least you have a plan enacted to move forward. And more power too right? Cool.

When I bought the car, nearly 2 years ago, I knew the engine was on its last legs then. What with my thrashing the engine all the time I knew the
engine wouldn't last long, however, it did last nearly 2 years I took it to 7,000rpm at least once a week using 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th. And
on the corners, country lanes and roundabouts then it really did (does?) get hammered. Its whats its their fore
I ordered the engine in November, but the engine builder in November and he hasn't even built the box yet! Still after I informed him that the
car is my only form of transport then that seems to have got him moving abit, thou not much. I have to phone him on Tuesday to see when to get the car
trailed to him to yank the engine out and build/fit the new one
I am haveing a chat with Chris Hollier on Sunday/Monday at Stoneleigh (he designed/built the car) about either sticking with the A Series which I
love, or going over to 1600 VTEC or even BMW Bike engine 1100.
Things to think about
