Did you check Z-cars; www.zcars.org.uk

Not the cheapest but great quality from what I have seen during the last Autosport. BEC can CEC options.

My mates recently built one.
Looked at design of Zcars mini and made his own cage, sub-frames, suspension etc.
Blade engine, flappy gear change....the lot.
Brilliant peice of kit and quite nippy!

The new Furore chassis accepts all the donor parts from Toyota MR2 Mk1 including all the various Toyota AGE engine options or bike engines (the initial chassis will be bracketed for ZZR1100 using the Toyota diff). I am intending to market the rear section of the chassis as a "stand alone unit" which can be bolted/welded into the back of a Mini/Saxo/Pug/Fiat 500 or whatever. It will take the standard Furore suspension/shox/uprights etc. & allow you to bolt in whatever bike power or Toyota power you choose to use. Can't give a firm price yet, but it certainly won't be anything like the extortionate (I think) price of the Z cars option.

If of any interest u2u or email for further details.

I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/furoreproducts/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

MK Engineering (not sportscars) made one, the owner posted here a couple of times but seemed to get discouraged that some thought cutting most of the floor out of a monocoque was significant enough for him to require SVA.

Pictures seem to have fallen off the web, but there is one on the Minicooper thread below.

welderman is also making one see this thread for at least some of it:

as is Minicooper

Check out mine: http://www.kimini.com/

I'll have a book out about the entire build in roughly a month (though it pertains to building any car.)

if you want to do a mini bec then make sure your budget runs to a decent engine as a bec mini is a bit lardy compared to a seven at around 600kg compared to 450-500 for a seven. chain drive diff and a de-dion axle will be the easiest to build if you do it yourself. if you use rorty,s de-dion plans and base your pick ups for the trailing arms on the book chassis you wont be far out .
