mid engine easy or not?

Just been having a wee think, i have a prelude 2.2 vtec with a superb engine and faultless gearbox sitting on my drive awaiting a little tlc. I think its a great drivers car but can't help thinking all that weight is bogging it down although to drive it doesn't feel like that at all! I know its not as simple as this but is it possible to more or less lift the engine and gearbox straight out and bolt it into a middy locost? An Lsd can be had quite easily too for this model. Any opinions?

my aim is to build my own locost wether it takes me a week or 10 years to get started, i'm sure i will sometime

Entirely possible but never be bogged down by a donor you have. Decide what you want and then sort the donor.

Dude, get my book. I made a mid-engine tube frame Mini using a mid-mounted Prelude drivetrain. It's all in there. See sig.

I am fairly certain that your engine will go in a middy - at least my Aeon will take it. I was discussing this with a potential customer who was thinking about incorporating the four wheel steering too!
Get the tape measure out and go for it
