Mid BEC - wheel + rims

Hi,

I am currently designing a single seater, and at the stage of putting into cad my unsprung weight, so i can hopefully work out my pick up points for the wishbones; so i can start designing the chassis

I am stuck, with what wheels to put into CAD, there is so much choice, and i am a bit lost.

I am not in the position to buy anything at the moment, so as long as i know what i am going to buy, that should be good enough.

Is it best to use 13 or 15 inch rims? The uprights will fit into a 13" rim

What profile height is the norm....

Is it best using road legal racing tyres, R888, Avon CR500 etc.

The car is been designed for the road and track - but probably going to be used more for road.

Many thanks

Kevin

What uprights are you using front and rear?? The wheel offset is best matched to the geometry of the uprights used - king pin inclination etc, to give optimum handling.

how about doing a google search on sprint/hillclimb single seaters for inspiration. most seem to have quite small wheels and there are a few folk on here that have them

Or have a look in my archive... Or you could even buy my single seater!

Hi

Virtually all single seater track cars use 13's.

Hard to advise you on a profile as can vary dramatically.
