J15 Hi Specs
Hi
I am interested in those calipers Jenko
Did you mod the upright or did Hi Spec have to alter the caliper - just wondering that if they have details of what they had to do they might make up
a small run of them.
If the offset was wrong would spacers not have sorted it ?
I have if i remember escort mk 2 discs and with the audi calipers i needed 1 x thinest washer i could find just to stop them binding with brand new
pads.
That car is looking really good
Thanks

Hispec did the mods, but only because the web site clearly said they fit golf uprights. So, they had a choice of refunding or making them fit. They
have been very helpful though.
The off set was wrong but you could not solve the issue with spacers, the lugs needed moving, and also we had to use different pads. Great now
it's done but has been a PITA.
You could try hispec, but I doubt they would want to undertake doing it again....If you do speak to them, ask for Alex who now knows the J15 rear
upright very well :-)

Are the ones they advertise as being a drop-in replacement for golf callipers not actually a simple swap then?

Correct.....they don't fit a golf. The hole spacing is the same, but these calipers were used by Westfield who used a different lug location. I
notice they have changed their website now, it only says vw lug mount.
