Midi Rolling chassis at last
Over the weekend I finished the welding up on my chassis and lowered it to the floor.
For some reason it feels like quite a major milestone for my build..... I've even sat in it and gone vroom vroom.

Good grief!! That's amazing!! Going to be nice when finished!! You have more tallent in your little finger than i have in my whole (huge!)
body!!

Thats awesome mate!! I am hoping to follow in your footsteps with a scratch build one day. But at the moment I am making an Indy with my own design
bodywork.
Are you designing and making your own bodywork? Got any tips??

That's brilliant Andy - it looks so much smaller now it's on the floor doesn't it.
The front section is going to blend in nicely

When thinking outside the box doesn't work any more, it's time to build a new box

Well its gona cost me less than a caterham even with my silly engine (twin turbo V12 BTW) so thats gota count for somthing
and the donor engine cost me £10!
It's amazing how different it looks on the ground..... it's actually lower than My Indy

The Discs are 355 x 35mm AP all round that I got for £100 pair.... and I am running a drum handbrake which is what you can see on the rear.
My advice on the body is don't make your own unless you really have to... it's very rewarding but a huge amount of work for a one off.
The biggest problem I have had thus far is finding time to work on my Indy... I have less than a weeks work to finish it but I just can stay away from
the GT car long enough to do any work on it.
