can you help?
diving into my car-building books again. and I started thinking "what if I can't find a RWD donor?". the next thought was
"maybe make plans for something using a FWD as a donor as well? maybe mid-engine?".
So, the construction can't be very different from the locost. you just put the engine-compartment in a different location, re-design the rear
suspension and use the locost front. But how do you know before-hand if the engine-compartment etc. will work with the engine you end up getting?
without having the engine to test-fit?

Go to the scrap yards with a tape measure and measure a few sample cars.
You will soon get an idea of how much space you will require, both width and length ways.

if ur doing mid engined, the front can be boiled down to a much more aerodynamic shape. have a look in the photo archives under sgraber and alanb,
they are both handy with cameras! and not bad at designing either!

Whoah@! let me get in on the festivities.
First off, Spyderman is right. The key points to measure are the motor mounts, but those can be fudged to a certain degree, the track of the front
wheels and the distance from the axle centerline to the front of the exhaust manifold.
2nd - JoelP - Thanks dude. You're too kind.
