The first EV La Bala

I've posted this over on the Locostusa.com forums as well but I think it's interesting enough to cross-polinate over here:

The Lola-ev is an all-electric La Bala using Azure Dynamics motor/controller/chargers in mid-engine configuration with banks of batteries running up the side pods. There is additional room in the front for even more batteries. It uses a single Speed transaxle with 70mph top speed and estimated range between 40-175 miles depending on battery packs. Low end would be AGM and high end would be the latest Lithium Ion etc. Weight of the vehicle is 1600lbs with a 40 mile range pack.

Another interesting feature on this car is the delete of the rocker suspension front and rear.

It was built by Paul Pearson of Santa Monica and named the Lola-ev in honor of his dog Lola.

Yes kendo I do realize that and I can't control what an individual person wants to put as a sticker on the side of their La Bala.

It has full regen braking system. I also forgot to mention that it's a 3 phase AC brushless drive system.

The owner told me that it takes 3 hours to recharge, but I have no data to back that up. I also have no confirmed range information just what the owner tells me. The current battery pack is 144v AGM I don't know the Amp/hr rating but I was told that he is to be upgrading to LiIon in the near future. It's a cost issue right now.

It has front and rear brakes. It is a fully street legal car.
